Vojtěch Pospíšil worked in London before joining the Coding Bootcamp Praha. He found a job during the last week of his batch and started working as a Backend Web Developer at GIT Consult in Prague in November, 2017. Why did he decide to come back home for his studies and what was his bootcamp experience like?

What did you do before the bootcamp?

I used to live in London. I was getting life experience, learning languages, meeting people and working a job I was not really happy with.

Why did you decide to learn programming?

After some time I got bored trying different jobs and wanted to focus on a real career. And I saw a future in the programming world. It was something I could imagine doing as my future job long term.

What made you choose the Coding Bootcamp Praha?

I was looking for bootcamps for a while, but most of them were too expensive. When I found out about Coding Bootcamp Praha, I was happy because it was an opportunity to come back home and immediately start my career.

What was your experience at the bootcamp - instructors, other students, team projects, hackathons, Demo Day etc like?

The bootcamp is great for learning as well as for bringing people together. I felt all the students and instructors got very close during the bootcamp. Everything is just easier in a friendly environment. About hackathons, projects, demo days, etc. - I think it's really great these are included in the camp! They test knowledge and ability to cooperate while bringing people together.

What was your favourite part of the Coding Bootcamp Praha experience?

I think my favourite part were the hackathons. They were really fun. They made me feel really competitive, cooperative, excited, and pushed me to do my best. At the end of a hackathon day, after reviewing all solutions and advice, I would drink a couple of beers and feel happy to have completed the exercise.

What do you think about the job support - the HR workshops, the CV/LinkedIn help, meeting the company partners etc?

For a junior beginner programmer, it's not easy to find the first job. But the advice, help and support from the bootcamp made it so much easier, and I am really grateful.

How long did it take you to find a job, where do you work now and what is your position?

I was so lucky that I found a job already during the last week of the coding bootcamp as a junior back-end developer at GIT Consult.

What would you advise to anyone who considers signing up for a coding bootcamp?

If you are into coding, it is definitely a good choice. You are able to get so much knowledge in a short period of time and truly fall in love with coding!
